Action! That’s all I can say after watching the first trailer of The Hobbit:The Desolation of Smaug. This particular trailer gives us those long awaited glimpses of Orlando Bloom as Legolas and the bad ass Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel. Yeah sure there are also glimpses of the dragon Smaug, but nothing too fantastic at least not enough to peak my interest. I still think Peter Jackson has something special in store for that characters reveal. I don’t know what it could be though, the movie is already in 3D. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
The film also stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellan, Richard Armitage, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, John Bell, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Stephen Fry, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Sylvester McCoy, Graham McTavish, Michael Mizrahi, James Nesbitt, Dean O’Gorman, Lee Pace, Mikael Persbrandt, Ken Stott, and Aidan Turner. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and HFR on December 13th.
The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellan) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
